In 1981, Paul Byrne, founder and publisher of Byrne Publishing Group Inc. started Stages, a magazine that would later be renamed Lethbridge Magazine. Seven years later Byrne published the first issue of Okanagan Life Magazine. Okanagan Life has grown from just two issues in 1988 to 10 issues per year in 2008. Throughout Byrne Publishing Group's history, more publications have been added to the line-up including: Okanagan Life's Annual Valley Guide, the Okanagan Life Relocation & Real Estate Guide; Magical Shuswap and Rainmakers. In addition, Byrne Publishing Group has produced numerous special publications for prominent Okanagan businesses as well as official visitors' guides for Tourism Kelowna, Vernon Tourism and Shuswap Tourism.
